Yes, I found a site that translated it as "Jack," rather than "John," as a non-speaker might assume. Have you been to the Isle, yarb?

I lived there from 2002-2004, and now it's become an island in my memory as well as in the Irish Sea. Lots of fun I had there. Clambering over cronks, riding the little steam railway down to Port Erin, getting drunk in the seaweedy air of Peel. The waves in Douglas Bay cannonading off the seawall / esplanade.
